Gary
For more than 20 years, Gary has devoted himself to working with children and teens in a variety of meaningful roles—teacher, tutor, after school coordinator, Sunday school educator, and leader in a 12-step support program for adolescents. These experiences have shaped his unique approach as a counselor and deepened his commitment to supporting young people in their healing journeys.
Support for Adults and Couples
In addition to working with children and families, Gary also offers counseling for men, women, and couples seeking support in areas such as:
Anxiety & Depression
Relationship Challenges
Stress & Anger Management
Grief & Loss
Trauma Recovery
Spirituality & Life Transitions
ADHD & Parenting Support
Compassionate Support for Children, Teens, and Families
When families reach out, they often describe a child who feels overwhelmed by big emotions, struggles with focus and grades, shuts down communication, or seems distant and more easily angered. Many parents arrive feeling exhausted—having tried everything they know to help—and unsure of what to do next.
Gary’s role is to meet each child where they are and equip families with new tools to move forward. Through counseling, children build emotional understanding and resilience, and parents learn strategies to strengthen connection and nurture a calmer, more communicative home environment.
A Child-Centered Approach
Gary tailors his methods to fit each child’s developmental needs and emotional state:
For younger children, he uses play therapy, expressive arts, and gentle conversation to help them process emotions in a safe and engaging way. Since children often can’t verbalize their feelings, Gary enters their world through play, creating space for healing and growth.
For older children and teens, sessions focus on open dialogue and active techniques that build emotional awareness, problem-solving skills, and stronger relationships with family, peers, and themselves.
Strengthening Parent–Child Relationships
One of Gary’s core counseling goals is to rebuild and fortify the parent–child bond. Through improved communication and deeper understanding of a child’s temperament and needs, families rediscover harmony at home—and children thrive not just with their parents, but also in school and social settings.
Specialized Trauma Support
Gary has advanced training in supporting children who have experienced trauma, including:
Domestic violence
Physical and sexual abuse
Bullying
Loss of a parent (through death, suicide, accident, or incarceration)
Children don’t always speak about trauma directly, but the signs are there—and early intervention is essential. Gary helps children process their experiences and develop healthy coping strategies that support healing now and in the future.
