Cristina Carmona-Portocarrero

At times, those closest to us may unintentionally hold us back through guilt, fear, or even “too much love.” Sometimes we find ourselves in relationships that feel unhealthy or confusing, yet it’s hard to know how to step toward safety and freedom. Other times, we long to strengthen our relationships but struggle to find the right tools. Grief may feel heavier than our ability to move forward, or unexpected events may leave us unsure how to begin healing.

If any of this sounds familiar, I am here to walk alongside you on your unique path toward healing. ¡Aquí estoy para ayudarte!

I am a bilingual counselor with over 20 years of experience providing therapy in both my home country of Colombia and the United States. My approach integrates humanistic principles, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), systemic and psychodynamic theories, as well as the use of art, spirituality, and multicultural awareness. I specialize in supporting individuals through grief and loss, divorce, trauma recovery, psychological abuse, marital challenges, family conflict, and other major life transitions.
